In Friday's games, the Cougars of Don Huprich rolled by Tampa- Catholic 86-45. Tony Grasso's Celtics battered Estero, 62-26.
"We shot pretty well," Huprich said of the Cougars' performance against Tampa Catholic. "The boys were getting good looks and taking open shots. That really makes a difference.
"I think our speed was just a little more than they could handle," Huprich added.
BC put four players in double figures, led by Matt Cruse with 16 points and Sean Combs with 13.
Richard Zentner and R.T. Murphy chipped in with 10 points each.
Zentner collected a team-best 11 rebounds. Murphy and Matt McGahey led the assist column with six and five respectively.
Meanwhile, Neumann pressed, trapped and harassed Estero.
The Celtics began the game with a full-court zone press and then shifted into a full-court man- to-man press. The defense frazzled the Estero offense.
Neumann's Eric Bratt led the team with seven steals. The score at the half was 36-11.
"The press worked very well," said Tony Grasso. "It was nice to see some of the things we've been doing in practice work out.
We put on defensive pressure from the start, and they didn't recover."
The Celtics' Jay Malanthy had 16 points and Zach Sidlovsky scored 13 points.
Tonight at 6, Tampa Catholic faces Estero.
In these Tip-off Classic preseason affairs, the games do not count on the teams' regular-season records.
