Sheila’s Out Shopping: For the love of cashmere

An unusual cashmere promotion begins Saturday afternoon at Saks stores in Waterside Shops in Naples and at Bell Tower in Fort Myers.

Called “Wild about Cashmere,” every department in both stores will feature something in cashmere. Just look for the berry-colored tags.

At about 1 p.m. Sunday, there will actually be live goats in the Naples store. Joining the flock will be fiberglass and plus goats aplenty.

For the kids, there’s a wonderful book called “Cashmere if You Can” ($16.99). The little ones will also love the cashmere teddy bears ($125) and the cashmere goats ($90 and $195).

For men, there are cashmere blazers, slippers and sweaters.

I fell in love with the cashmere-lined ballet slippers in pewter or copper ($175) and the cashmere wrap in its own bag ($395) came in a close second. I can picture wrapping myself in this on a plane and then going out to dinner in New York City with it draped around my shoulders.

I also had a soft spot for a wild pillow ($155), zodiac pillows ($125), photo albums ($155), a striped throw ($650), slippers in a case ($155), notecards (10 for $20), cubes ($375) and an accessories tray ($60). Everything in the store is so luxurious.

And the colors are magnificent — melon, berry, robin’s egg blue, lavender, grass, yellow and, of course, black and white.

Lounge in style in a cashmere robe in sage or white, trimmed in embossed satin ($642). The matching satin nightie ($199) is the perfect finishing touch.

The ultimate luxury? Cartier’s watch with a cashmere watchband, or a diamond bracelet by Graff that spells cashmere in white diamonds.

The plush goats around the stores will be put up for bid, with proceeds going to charity.

Wouldn’t you love to have one graze at your house?
