Ex-Cav Brown joins Flame

With Florida Flame backup forward Jeremy McNeil done for the season with a torn patella tendon, the Flame picked up another beefy post player, 6-foot-9, 255-pound Elton Brown, from the available player pool. He should be in uniform for the Flame’s next game, Saturday at Arkansas.

Brown, from the University of Virginia, finished fourth in the ACC in rebounding as a senior, was the Cavaliers’ second-leading scorer and recorded 11 double-doubles. He received honorable mention all-ACC honors as a junior, posting 14.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.

McNeil saw limited time in his first few games with the Flame and tore his patella tendon in a home loss Saturday to Roanoke.
