“Our goal is not just to be fantastic, but to be the best company of our type in Florida. We want our customers to rave about us.”

That’s the philosophy of Cornerstone Kitchens according to vice president of sales and marketing Dave Cooke, who says it seems to be working since nearly half of the family-owned company’s business comes from referrals.

Cooke’s father-in-law, Tony Leeber, Sr., started the kitchen remodeling business in 1988 and has maintained a hands-on approach since.

“When you look at the quality you get for the money, our value can’t be touched by competitors,” said Cooke.

Whether remodeling, re-facing, re-surfacing or just adding cabinet doors, Cooke says most customers will save at least 40 percent off the cost of installing new cabinets.

“We run the gamut as far as budget is concerned,” said Cooke. “We offer everything from our stock lines to full-blown custom cabinets.”

A full service cabinet and countertop remodeling store, Cornerstone offers a complete selection of granite, quartz, DaVinci, marble and Corian for kitchen countertops or wet bars and does its own fabrication and installation.

“We’re licensed contractors,” he said. “We do it all in-house.”

Cooke said quartz is gaining popularity as a countertop material because it has the hard shine and beauty of granite, but requires less maintenance and does not have to be sealed. However, he urges customers to take a factory tour first and visit the granite yard, where they can hand-pick a slab, before making a final decision.

Cooke explained there are lots of options for revitalizing kitchens from adding a wine rack or upgrading a corner cupboard with a Lazy Susan to putting on new cabinet doors or veneers and getting all new cabinets or countertops.

In fact, the kitchen accessories section will spark the imagination with ideas such as tilt-out trays, rollout garbage cans and pullout cutting boards or a recycling center, sliding mixer shelves, built-in spice cabinets.

Cornerstone’s 2,000-square-foot showroom across from Pelican Bay in Naples features multiple designer kitchens showcasing the work of many talented craftsmen and also displays a variety of stainless and solid surface sinks as well as its newest addition, Cornerstone Closets.

“We specialize in cabinetry for every room of the house, so it was a natural for us to include closets and organizational pieces,” Cooke said.

Cornerstone Kitchens has showrooms in Naples at 7700 Trail Boulevard and on Sanibel, 1640 Periwinkle Way #5 and a factory store located at 3150 Metro Parkway in Fort Myers. Call 593-1112 for more information.
