The Estero Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the third annual Celebrate Estero event on Saturday, Feb. 11, hosted by Miromar Outlets.
It's a fun-filled day of entertainment that promotes the wonderful business community, and the state and county agencies, schools, civic and charitable organizations in our area.
This is truly a unique event that gives visitors an opportunity to meet 40 business sponsors that will showcase their companies. They can also meet our county and state elected officials who represent our area, and find out about the organizations that we have in Southwest Florida.
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. by the lake with the Estero High School Jazz Band. At 11 a.m., be sure to bring the kids to the puppet show by the San Carlos Park Fire and Rescue District with another performance at 1:30 p.m. At noon, our elected officials will compete in a fun-filled Golf Boat Bonanza, hosted by Mike Calbot, the Golf Doctor, for all of our golfing fans.
And at 1 p.m., we will kick off the popular Chili Cook-Off, sponsored by Estero Fire Rescue. There will be six local fire districts competing and judged by our elected officials.
Visitors can have a free blood pressure screening by the Bonita Community Health Center nurses and the kids will enjoy the bounce house by the Lee County YMCA.
Come meet Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott and his officers who will be there with their helicopter, K-9 unit, SWAT team and bomb squad with robot Voice Team to do kids' finger painting. The South County Regional Library and its friends will be there to issue library cards with their book mobile. The Estero Art League will be there with kids' face painting and sales.
There will be music by DJs and raffle drawings throughout the day.
Please bring canned goods to our event to benefit the Interfaith Caregivers of South Lee and the Senior Friendship Center. There will be an arts and crafts show at the entrance to Miromar Outlets, but be sure to visit the Estero Chamber's event by the lake and food court.
