Hagerman finishes second at UCF golf tournament

Florida Gulf Coast University's Heather Hagerman, a sophomore from New Port Richey, fired a 1-under-par 71 to finish in second place at the UCF Invitational on Tuesday in Orlando.

The Eagles had a 318 team total and tied for 10th in the two-day, 13-team tournament with a 633 total. Hagerman shot a 73 in the first round. She finished two strokes behind FIU's Susan Nam.

Other scores for FGCU: Cassie Sherron (T39, 83-76/159), Brittany Bertilson (T46, 79-81/160), Natalie Lueck (T67, 80-90-/170) and Ashley Wright (74th, 92-94/186).

Former Barron Collier golfer Holly Boot shot an 80 and tied for 35th at 158. Rollins College won with a 595, followed by Florida International (598), UCF (611), Texas Tech (611) and South Alabama (614).
