Thomas J. Sullivan

Thomas J. Sullivan, 75, of Marco Island, died Jan. 29, 2006, with his wife and children by his side.

Mr. Sullivan worked at Star Bronze Co. in Alliance, Ohio, for 33 years. He retired as vice president.

Mr. Sullivan, who lived in Northboro, Mass., for 35 years, served as a Eucharistic minister and lecturer at Holy Trinity Church in Harwich, Mass.

He was born June 14, 1930, to John and Kathleen Sullivan.

He was raised in Worcester, Mass., and graduated from Commerce High School and Worcester Junior College.

Mr. Sullivan married Marie J. Martin on Aug. 28, 1954.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, John F. of Marlboro, Mass.; three daughters, Jean M. Anderson of South Dennis, Mass., Joyce A. of Putney, Vt., and Jo-Ann Sullivan-Laffey of South Yarmouth, Mass; a sister, Kathleen Anderson of Florida; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and David.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 4 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in West Harwich, Mass. Burial followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Charlene Elizabeth Besuden

Charlene Elizabeth Besuden, of Marco Island, Cincinnati and Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada, died Feb. 2, 2006.

Mrs. Besuden was a member of San Marco Catholic Church and St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church in Madeira, Ohio.

She was a longtime member of the Mercy Hospital Guild and was its charity ball chairwoman. She was a member of the Clippenger Woods Garden Club and was the founder, vice president and president of the Clippenger Woods Women’s Club in Indian Hill, Ohio.

Mrs. Besuden spent her summers on Manitoulin Island beginning in 1943. She spent winters on Marco Island with her husband, David W., beginning in 1981.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Sue (Ken) Nemenz of Cincinnati and Naples and Dianne Hallberg of Highland Beach; two sons, Jim (Debbie) Geehring of Palm Harbor and David (Michelle) of Loveland, Ohio; a sister, Jackie Mead of Winter Haven; a brother-in-law, George (Connie) of Indian Hill, Marco Island and Manitoulin Island; six grandchildren; three great-grandsons; many nieces and nephews; and grandnieces and grandnephews.

A Mass was celebrated Feb. 7 at San Marco Catholic Church.
