Hello to those who have arrived for February. The Shores Club is busy and the calendar of events has arrived with our newsletter so check your pool area (if in a condo) or the news area of your visiting area or pick information up at the club.
Since it is February, it is time for elections and they will be at the March 1 potluck dinner, but we need more volunteers for the vacancies, and there are several. We do have a new custodian for the building, Ron LeLeiux and his sister, Cindy, is trying to learn Connie's job of administrative assistant.
There are many programs for a variety of interests such as bridge, yoga, line dance, ballroom dance, bingo, scrapbooking, and a lasagna dinner on March 4.
We are sorry to announce that the Valentine's Dance and St. Patrick's dances are being canceled. The K-Tones are trying to help build up the club but the lack of interest is "very defeating."
Commissioner Halas spoke at the February potluck and Nancy Stetson is scheduled to be our speaker March 1. Please get your dues in this month for the year — this is very important for our support of projects and it supports a scholarship for a high school senior. The dues are $15 for one and $25 for a family.
A safety item: remember to wear light clothes and a carry a light when walking or riding the area and please clean up after your animals when out — have some respect for others' property.
More drivers are needed for the Neighborhood Watch at this time with the growing population. Even seasonal drivers are needed. You must have a Florida license.
The phone number for the club is 992-8888. The phone has an answering machine, so leave a message. Check out our new roof! Great job, fellows, and thank you. Sorry I missed last week... I wrote an article but my computer didn't send it out.
