A man was arrested in connection with cocaine trafficking Wednesday at a Bonita Springs motel.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the Bonita Inn Motel, 28090 Quails Nest Drive, after receiving complaints about drug activity in the area. Deputies noticed a gray Mazda parked in front of Room 104 and began questioning two occupants inside the room.
Authorities said deputies noticed suspicious activity by several people in the room.
Officials then found two plastic bags containing a white powder substance sitting on a table. The substance was later determined to be cocaine.
Deputies said Jose Alvarado Baltierra, 29, of 28090 Pennsylvania Ave., Bonita Springs, was charged with trafficking cocaine, a first-degree felony. He also was arrested on a warrant charging him with failure to appear.
