St. John Neumann didn’t have an answer for Janelle Devaul.
The 5-foot-11 center scored 28 points and Keswick Christian held off the Celtics, 63-59, in the Class 2A Region 3 quarterfinals on Thursday in St. Petersburg.
“She had an all-around great game,” said Keswick coach Karrmayne King. “She really stepped in there when we needed her.”
“Last year, we lost by 50 points, so having the year that we had this year and losing by four, I think these girls did a great job,” Neumann coach Shannon McFee said.
Sarah Wickham scored 29 points and Neumann (15-13) rallied from a 10-4 first-quarter deficit.
Chelsea Wozniak scored 12 points for Keswick Christian, and Laura Hodupp added 10.
