New officers
The Naples Sailing & Yacht Club installed the following officers at the Commodore’s Ball held Jan. 28: Benjamin Bethell, commodore; Richard Washburn, vice commodore; William Grafstrom, rear commodore; Peter Ladell, fleet captain; Lynne Nordhoff, secretary; Michael Keeler, treasurer; and Jules Allen, Florida Council of Yacht Clubs delegate.
Supporters of Del- Nor Wiggins Park

New club

-- Women of Style awards luncheon and fashion show will be 11:30 a.m. at the Naples Grande Resort & Club, 475 Seagate Drive, Naples. Tickets are $100 and proceeds benefit the Women of Style Leadership Fund at the Community Foundation of Collier County. -- The Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve is offering the coastal Systems Module of the Florida Master Naturalist Program 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from March 7-20 at 300 Tower Road, Naples. The program is for anyone 18 and up at a cost of $200.

Statue moved
The Thomas Edison statue that was in front of the Edison Mall in Fort Myers has been moved to its new permanent home at the Imaginarium, 2300 Peck St., Fort Myers. The statue was carved from a Mysore fig tree planted by Thomas Edison on his winter estate.
Photography contest
Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed is sponsoring photography contests of pictures taken at the CREW Land and Water Trust. The categories are wildflowers, animals, landscapes and waterscapes and the age divisions are elementary school, middle school, high school, adult and 50 and over.
Submit photos no later than March 3; winners will be announced March 17. Photos that have won or received honorable mentions will be on display at the Florida Gulf Coast art gallery from April 15-30. Information: 657-2253.
