You can’t even walk between the raindrops during our recent downpours. An umbrella doesn’t help, because you get drenched just getting in and out of the car.
What you need is some serious rain gear.
Like Coach‘s rubber boots ($118). You’ll have to decide between black or brown, and you might have to add matching brown hat with the vermillion trim ($148). An umbrella and tote is also available in the same color combinations.
Crocs are the rage, rain or shine. They are great if you stand on your feet all day, and the perfect thing to leave in your car or at your desk in case of rain. Colors range from neutrals to brights. I like the purple Crocs ($39.99), and recommend the tied ones ($49.99) — they’ll stay on your feet. Both styles are available at Dillard’s. Copies are available at Payless ($14.99) and Target ($9.99).
L.L. Bean sells the gumshoe for men and women ($59). I bought the short tie style but I also like the slip-on moc.
The Dollar Tree sells ponchos ($1 for two) that are great to carry in your purse. They also have umbrellas for a dollar.
I’m so happy I feel like singin’ in the rain.

Fall trends
Fashion designers showed large jackets with narrow skirts and pants for fall and winter at the Paris and the Milan runway shows. Tulip and bell-shaped skirts are taking the place of dirndls.
