Wrap-up party

Fort Myers Relay for Life participants are invited to attend a free party from 6-7:30 p.m. June 6 at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre, 1380 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers. The relay raised $470,000 for the Lee County American Cancer Society. Information: (239) 936-1113, ext. 116.

Wine tasting

Naples Junior Woman’s Club will sponsor a wine tasting at 5:30 p.m. June 8 at Evoo Market & Bistro, 13240 U.S. 41 N., Naples. $25.

Champagne and gems

Congress Jewelers will donate 100 gemstones to be served in champagne to the first 100 guests to make a $100 contribution to the Uncommon Friends Foundation at its Uncommon Evening on June 8 at Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa, 17260 Harbour Pointe Drive, Fort Myers. Information: (239) 335-2110.

Soapfest

Actors from “One Life to Live,” “All My Children,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “As the World Turns” and “Guiding Light” will participate in “Southwest Florida Soapfest: A Night of Stars” at the Players Club and Spa at Lely Resort, 6 p.m. June 17. $100

Oral cancer foundation

Dr. Paiman Aghasi, a dentist, will donate $10 to the Oral Cancer Foundation for every ViziLite exam he and his team performs through June 30. ViziLite is a non-invasive technology that detects oral cancer. The office is located at 16565 Vanderbilt Drive, Bonita Springs. Information: 992-0110.

Golf tournaments

-- Make-a-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida and Harry Chapin Food Bank will benefit from the tournament hosted by FreeWellnessTest.com at 8:30 a.m. June 17 at the Verandah Country Club, Fort Myers. An awards dinner will be held at 2 p.m. $150. Information: (239) 458-4474

-- American Red Cross, Collier County Chapter will sponsor a tournament on June 23 at the Club at TwinEagles, Naples. A continental breakfast will be served with an awards lunch following the tournament. $1,250 (foursome). Information: 596-6868, ext. 12.

Volunteers needed

-- The Conservancy of Southwest Florida needs volunteers to work on the RedSnook Catch and Release Charity Fishing Tournament to be held Oct. 6-7, 2007. The tournament will be held at Naples Bay, Rookery Bay and Everglades National Park and will include fishing, social events and a silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the Estuaries, Coastal Watershed Initiative and the Coastal Conservation Association. Information: 403-4217 or www.conservancy.org.

-- Naples Botanical Garden, 4820 Bayshore Drive, Naples, needs volunteers for the Butterfly House from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. or 1-4 p.m. Wednesdays-Saturdays. Information: 643-7275, ext. 28.

Good deeds

-- Naples Museum of Art received a grant from the Saldukas Family Foundation to benefit the Museum’s library.

-- March of Dimes will distribute grants totaling $280,000 and the Southwest Coast Division will distribute local grants totaling $22,500.
