Consider an idea that may help lighten the load of gasoline prices on our wallets.
If the gasoline vendors would eliminate the ridiculous nine-tenths cent on all fuel pump prices, we could save a cumulative sum of money.
Calculate that an average automobile holds 18 gallons of fuel. That would be a savings of 16.2 cents per fill-up. Multiply that by approximately 150 million registered vehicles in the U.S. and you get a $24.3 million savings, per fill-up, that would go back into the economy.
This process would also free up the nine-tenths digit wheel for four-digit fuel prices in the future.
