Bonita council to get break from contentious issues

The Bonita Springs City Council finalized its agenda today for its meeting coming up Wednesday, and although the schedule for the 5:30 p.m. meeting is lengthy, there aren't many contentious issues.

The agenda calls for the council to discuss setting a new affordable housing fee for developers, creating a separate historic preservation board, letting the Cafe of Life use the community hall more, having low phosphorous fertilizer used countywide and allocating space in the Liles Hotel.

The council chambers has been packed during recent meetings for issues like downtown revitalization and the development of the Ronto Group property on the east side of town.

Regular meetings for the council are scheduled for the first and third Wednesdays of the month. The members also meet for zoning hearings on the fourth Monday of the month, and for any special workshops.
