A gubernatorial forum scheduled for Tuesday night at the Philharmonic Center for the Arts in North Naples has been postponed.
The forum, the first of two scheduled by the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce, was to feature U.S. Rep. Jim Davis and state Sen. Rod Smith. The two Democrats will face each other in the Florida primary in September.
Davis told forum organizers Saturday that he will be unable to attend because of an important Homeland Security vote now scheduled for Tuesday on Capitol Hill. The legislation will set funding levels for U.S. communities.
The forum, which will be moderated by former CNN news anchorwoman Denise Cobb, will be scheduled for a later date.
Davis is from Tampa and Smith is from Gainesville.
