D'Alessio is named to all-tourney team

Barron Collier graduate Andy D'Alessio, a junior first baseman for top-seeded Clemson, was a unanimous selection to the Clemson Region all-tournament team.

D'Alessio was 0-for-3 in a 3-0 win over UNC-Asheville, but went 3-for-3 with two homers and three RBI in a 13-3 pasting of Elon, and was 1-for-3 with two RBI in an 8-6 win over Mississippi State that clinched the regional title.

D'Alessio is expected to be selected today on the first day of Major League Baseball's First-Year Player Draft.

Barron Collier graduate Ross Brezovsky, a sophomore second baseman for Notre Dame, was 2-for-10 for the Irish, who were eliminated in two games from their regional. Brezovsky was 2-for-8 in a 5-4, 16-inning loss to College of Charleston, and 0-for-2 in a 10-4 loss to Kentucky.
