Fort Myers' George McNeill, an assistant professional at The Forest Country Club, shot a 2-under-par 70 and was tied for third after the first round of the U.S. Open sectional qualifier at Old Memorial Golf Club in Tampa today.

Fort Myers' Nolan Henke is tied for 31st after a 76, and Naples amateur Jackie Miller is tied for 53rd with an 84.
