Blood drives

The Community Blood Center will host blood drives at the following locations to get ready for the hurricane season:

• Noon-6 p.m. today, North Collier Hospital, 11190 Healthpark Blvd., Naples.

• 2-6 p.m. Wednesday, First Baptist Church of Naples, 3000 Orange Blossom Drive, Naples.

• 8:30-11 a.m. Thursday, Lutgert Companies, Venetian Village, 4200 Gulf Shore Blvd., Naples.

• 8-11:30 a.m. Friday, Naples Community Hospital, Central Campus, 2157 Pine Ridge Road, Naples.

• 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, June 11, Starbuck's, Granada Shops Plaza, Immokalee Road and 

U.S. 41.

• 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. June 13, Allen Systems, 1333 Third Ave. S., Naples.

• 8-11 a.m. June 15, Wilson-Miller, 3200 Bailey Lane, Naples.

• 7-9:30 a.m. June 16, Artisan's Guild Custom Cabinet, 1510 Rail Head Blvd., Naples.

Free screening

Free screenings for dizziness and balance will be given by a certified vestibular physical therapist from 8:30-11 a.m. Wednesday at NCH Outpatient Rehabilitation, Greentree Shopping Center, 2330 Immokalee Road, Naples. Participants can get referrals to specialized doctors, if needed. Information: 596-0834.

Foster parents needed

The Children's Network of Southwest Florida will host an orientation about becoming a foster or adoptive parent at 6 p.m. June 13 at 215 Airport-Pulling Road N., Naples. Information: (800) 893-2645-9 (89FAMILY).

Facial rejuvenation

Dr. Mark F. Prysi, a board certified plastic surgeon, will speak about his natural approach to facial rejuvenation at 3 p.m. June 13, at the Ritz-Carlton, Naples, 280 Vanderbilt Beach Road, Naples. Reservations are requested. Information: 643-3223.

Caregiver training

The Caregivers Assistance and Regional Education program is sponsoring free caregiver training from 1-4 p.m. June 13 and 15 at St. William Catholic Church, 705 Seagate Drive, Naples. Discussion topics include personal care, caregiver feelings and roles and responsibilities. Information: (866) 231-0921.

Diabetes self-management

A diabetes self-management class will be held from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. June 14 and 15 at Certified Diabetic Services, 3030 Horseshoe Drive S., Naples. The class will cover meal planning, blood glucose monitoring, medication information and body care. Medicare and most private insurance covers the cost of the classes. Registration is required. New position

D. Wayne Peters, chief financial officer of Eye Centers of Florida, has been named the chief executive officer for Eye Centers of Florida. Peters, a certified public accountant, will also retain the position of CFO.
