After more than five years of local ownership, the Marco Island Sun-Times was recently sold to The News-Press, the Fort Myers newspaper reported on its Web site Monday.
The weekly community newspaper was owned by the Sun Times Newspaper Group. It is generally about 100 pages, and is available for free at shops and restaurants throughout Marco Island.
Editors at the Sun-Times were not available for comment Monday night.
