Miracle blank Yankees

Fort Myers Miracle starter Kevin Slowey tossed eight shutout innings Tuesday night, leading Fort Myers to a 3-0 win over the Tampa Yankees at Hammond Stadium.

Slowey allowed four hits and struck out five, throwing 72 of 97 pitches for strikes. The outing lowered his ERA to a miniscule 1.19 this season. Only one Yankee reached second base.

Brock Peterson put the Miracle ahead 1-0 in the first with an RBI single. Matt Tolbert knocked in a run with a third-inning single and later scored on a wild pitch.

The Miracle and Yankees close out their three-game set at 7:05 tonight at Hammond Stadium.
