U.S. Postal Service seeks part-time help in Bonita Springs, Naples

Anyone who has a car and is interested in a part-time job in Bonita Springs or Naples is invited to attend a U.S. Postal Service job fair on Saturday, June 17, at Naples Beach and Golf Course Hotel.

The event is sponsored by Bonita Springs Postmaster Richard Barber and Naples Postmaster Tom O’Neill. Those who attend will be interviewed at the fair. Written applications, which can be picked up at any area post office, should be filled out in advance. Also needed the day of the fair is a copy of the applicant’s five-year driving abstract, which can be obtained through the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles.

Applicants should be willing to deliver mail on rural routes using their own vehicle. Those hired will earn $16.24 an hour plus a mileage allowance.

Applicants must be drug-free and a citizen of the United States. Applicants who have been granted permanent resident alien status will be required to provide proof. Two forms of identification will be required — a driver’s license and a Social Security or green card.

These part-time positions are the only ones open, but they can lead to full-time employment with benefits within two to five years, according to a U.S. Postal Service press release.

The hotel is at 851 Gulf Shore Blvd. N. The fair begins at 8 a.m. and will last most of the day.
