A 50-year-old Golden Gate man was charged with sexual battery after exposing a 2-year-old girl to pornography and having her perform a sex act on him, authorities said.
Steve Moore was arrested at about 9 a.m. Wednesday by Collier County sheriff’s deputies. Investigators initiated an investigation into his activities after receiving information from the girl’s family.
The name of the girl is not being released due to the nature of the charges.
Through interviews and a polygraph with Moore, investigators were able to determine that the girl saw sections of a pornographic video Moore was watching while she was staying the night at his residence. Moore and the girl know each other, but other details about their relationship are not being released, authorities said.
Moore told investigators the girl was watching the porn tape while he was watching it, but he did not know she was doing so, a Sheriff’s Office report said. Moore also said he did not close or lock his bedroom door while watching porn tapes even though he was responsible for watching the child, the report said.
Moore told investigators the girl would sneak into his bedroom while he was sleeping, unbutton his shorts, and play with his penis.
Moore is not listed in the state of Florida’s online sexual offender database.
