Man faces charges related to car crashes

A 44-year-old Bonita Springs man accused of driving so recklessly that he hit two cars, causing one to flip on its side, was arrested Saturday.

Daniel Flores, 44, of 10111 Sandy Hollow Lane, was arrested on charges of failing to remain at a crash involving an injury, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and reckless driving, according to Lee County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Sheriff’s reports said Flores was driving erratically on Old 41 Road and swerving, causing his roof rack to come loose and for roofing nails to fall from the bed of his truck, disabling other vehicles.

Flores then drove onto East Terry Street, where is accused of hitting two cars, including one that was resting on its side at East Terry and Kent Drive when authorities arrived.

Flores said he was attempting to avoid someone who was in the bed of his truck trying to shoot him, sheriff’s reports said. There was no evidence of someone else in the truck, sheriff’s reports said.
