Estero Fire Rescue hired today a new spokesperson for the fire district.
Jane Hess, a producer for the South Carolina Educational Television Commission, will report for duty July 3, said Jim Clarke, Estero Fire spokesman.
Hess will be employed at a salary of $52,000 per year.
"She was the front-runner through the whole interview process," said Estero Fire Chief Jeff Lindsey.
Hess is replacing Clarke, who has accepted a meteorologist position with ABC-7. Clarke was chief meteorologist at NBC-2 before going to Estero Fire in 2003.
