With the remnants of Tropical Storm Alberto well northeast of Southwest Florida, a typical rainy season pattern is expected today across the area. The National Weather Service said there is a 30 percent chance of showers and storms.
Some of those storms this afternoon and evening could produce lightning and gusty winds, forecasters said.
The high temperature is expected to reach 88 degrees near the coast and 90 degrees inland. A chance of storms is in the forecast each day through the middle of next week with highs in the low 90s, the weather service said.

Naples Municipal Airport has picked up 1.57 inches of rain since Sunday, when Tropical Storm Alberto began to approach the Florida coast.
Records indicate the average June brings 8.18 inches of rain to Naples. The city has picked up 1.79 inches so far this month.
