The Marco Island Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a trip to the Golden Gate Aquatics Center for 12- to 15-year-olds Saturday, June 17.
Bus transportation will leave Mackle Park at 7 p.m. and will return at 10 p.m. Participants may sign up at the park until Friday, June 16. Admission for residents is free and non-residents must pay a $20 fee and be accompanied by a resident.
"This will be a fun trip for Marco Island teens," said Mindy Matusiak, Recreation Program Supervisor. "The trip is well organized and teens must travel with us to get access to the pools. Once we are there, the gates will be closed to the public so we can have a Marco Island Teen Pool party."
City staff has rented the facility for this event and teens will have access to a heated swimming pool and children's activity pool, two 110-foot slides and three diving boards. Collier County will provide lifeguards for the evening and the park's concession stand will be open for participants to purchase food.
