Southbound I-75 lane reopens after crash

The southbound lanes of Interstate 75 have been cleared after a dump truck overturned this morning, slowing morning commutes for hundreds of motorists.

A crash reported at 7:01 a.m. involving an overturned dump truck blocked one southbound lane of I-75 just north of the Immokalee Road exit.

The inside lane was closed but the outside lane remained open, troopers said.

Officials also allowed drivers to use the shoulder of the highway to pass through the area.

Traffic was backed up for miles. Traffic also was moving slowly on alternate routes.

No serious injuries were reported.
