Lane closures planned next week in south Lee

Motorists should expect lane closures on three segments of south Lee County roads beginning next week.

Lanes on Interstate 75 near the Alico Road interchange will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Monday, while crews work to rebuild the interchange. There will also be truck traffic entering and leaving I-75 near the interchange, according to the Florida Department of Transportation's road watch advisory update.

Segments of U.S. 41 will also be closed starting Monday. Lanes will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on U.S. 41 near Coconut Trace while crews continue to build turn lanes. Traffic is likely to be slow, so expect delays, the advisory says.

There will be intermittent nighttime lane closures on U.S. 41 from north of Bonita Beach Road to Old 41 Road in Lee County while work to widen the highway continues. The northbound lanes will be closed from 6 p.m. to 10:45 a.m., and the southbound lanes from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., as well as some sporadic daytime stops on side streets for the construction of driveway connections.
