Barron Collier pitcher Ian Parry was named Class 5A Second-Team All-State to lead seven area players honored by the Florida Sports Writers Association on Friday.
Parry, the Naples Daily News Baseball Player of the Year, was one of four Cougars selected. Pitcher Brett Eckler made the third team, while infielder Josh Minick and outfielder Jeff Schaus received honorable mention.
Barron Collier reached the state semifinals.
Gulf Coast, which went 23-0 in the regular season, had three players receive honorable mention: pitchers Kyle Lozensky and Brandon Neff and outfielder Justin Strang.
