Sarasota drops Miracle, 9-4

The Fort Myers Miracle’s first-half playoff hopes took a big hit Thursday night in Sarasota when the Miracle fell 9-4 to the Reds while West Division leading Dunedin knocked off Clearwater.

Fort Myers (36-31) now stands two games behind the Blue Jays with three games remaining in the first half. The Miracle must sweep Lakeland and hope the Tampa Yankees can take three straight from Dunedin.

Sarasota jumped on Fort Myers starter Anthony Swarzak early, notching nine hits and four runs in the first three innings.
