Komen branch raises funds
The Southwest Florida Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation recently announced the award of more than $306,000 in community grants to support Lee and Collier County-area breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs.
More than $100,000 of this will be submitted to National for research grants.
Local teacher gets Fulbright
Community School of Naples Upper School science teacher Tim Grundhoefer was recently awarded a teacher's Fulbright Memorial Scholarship that will enable him to spend three weeks in Japan this summer.
To date, six teachers nationwide have been awarded this scholarship.
Grundhoefer is one of only two Florida teachers who will be traveling to Japan this summer. When he returns to school next fall, Grundhoefer will share his experiences with the greater Community School of Naples community.
