Barbecue

Kiwanis Club of Naples on the Gulf is sponsoring a chicken barbecue from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. today at Messiah Lutheran Church, 5800 Golden Gate Parkway, Naples. Proceeds benefit the Boy Scouts of America, Ronald McDonald’s Care Mobile and Step By Step. $10 (adults), $6 (children). Information: 253-2779

Revival

Revival services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday at Liberty Lighthouse Church of God, 27383 Felts Ave., Bonita Springs. Evangelist Joel Ali of Trinidad will lead the services. Information: 877-4077

Thrift sale

Penny Wise Thrift Shop is having a half-price sale from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. today and Monday at 9801 Bonita Beach Road, Bonita Springs. New furniture and accessories, clothing, household items and small appliances will be discounted. Proceeds benefit St. Mary’s Church and local charities.

Rummage needed

Donations for a rummage sale to be held July 15 are needed by the Ascend Youth Ministry. Items may be left from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays (through July 12) at the Bonita Springs Community Center, 10520 Reynolds St., Bonita Springs. Information: 273-4556

Forum

Dorothy Mills, an author and historian, will discuss Austrian Nazis at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 6340 10th Ave. S.W., Naples. Information: 455-6553

Eagle Scouts

The following Mormon youths of Boy Scout Troop 52 of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints received their Eagle Scout awards by fulfilling individual projects:

-- Kennedy Hilliard, son of Wally and Tricia Hilliard of Naples, organized a collection of furniture, clothes and food and delivered it to the Guadalupe House in Immokalee. Hilliard will be a high school senior and plans to attend Brigham Young University.

-- David Michael Shepp II, son of Teresa Shepp-Gagnon of Naples, made personal lockers and wardrobes for the homeless at St. Matthew’s House. Shepp graduated Barron Collier High School and was awarded three scholarships. He will attend Michigan Technological University this fall.

-- Mason Smith, son of William and Louis Smith of Naples, built wooden receptacles for the large trash cans in Delnor-Wiggins State Park. Smith is a graduate of Barron Collier High School. He will attend Brigham Young University in the fall.

All three plan to serve a two-year mission when they turn 19.

Vacation Bible schools

-- Iglesia Pentecostes Peniel, 757 107th Ave. N., Naples, will sponsor a free vacation Bible school with a “Fiesta” them from 9 a.m.-noon Monday through Sunday. Information: 596-2556
