Collier County deputies were called before 10 p.m. Sunday to 1050 Albany Court on the report of a disturbance. Authorities spoke with the resident of the home, who told deputies that the man she was dating had thrown her kitten against a kitchen wall during an argument.

The man then left the woman’s house, authorities said.

Deputies found the kitten shaking on the floor bleeding from its mouth and nose. The kitten died as a result of its injuries, authorities said. The kitten’s age wasn’t known.

Emaus Lansiquot, 21, of 931 22nd St. S.E., was found at his home and arrested and charged with cruelty to animals.
