Four auto burglaries occur Monday

Five cars parked on Trade Center Way in North Naples were broken into Monday night, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Four of the cars were parked in the Gold’s Gym parking lot and one was parked in the Benchmark Appraisers parking lot, the Sheriff’s Office reported. The burglar or burglars smashed in the windows of three of the cars, pried out a window of one car and crawled through the sun roof of another. The burglaries occurred between 7:45 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Property taken includes a wallet, watch, laptop computer, Palm Pilot, and a camera. The burglars attempted to take a bike, but it was locked to a roof rack.

The Sheriff’s Office said it is important for people to take out their property when locking their vehicles, and if they go to a gym, they should use lockers to secure valuables.
