Golden Gate shooting victims identified

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office this morning identified three men injured in a shooting late Tuesday in Golden Gate.

Authorities said Roosevelt Baptiste, 22, of 4850 Whistlers Green Circle, was struck with bird shot pellets in his back during the incident at 8:24 p.m. at 1751 46th St. S.W. in Golden Gate. He was flown to Lee Memorial Hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening, the Sheriff’s Office said.

His condition wasn’t known this morning.

Sonny Forges, whose age and address wasn’t available, was struck with a few pellets and treated at Naples Community Hospital, deputies said. He has been released from the hospital.

Louis Forges, 40, of 1751 46th St S.W., was struck with one pellet and refused medical treatment. Authorities said three to five shots were fired.

Investigators have interviewed several people in connection with the shootings, although no arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 793-9300
