A man wanted by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office for sexual activity with a minor has been found in New Orleans, authorities said.
Local authorities were notified that Michael O’Brien, 43, was arrested on a warrant charging him with two counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. He was taken into custody late Tuesday in New Orleans on the Collier County charges.
O’Brien originally was arrested in January, bonded out and failed to appear for his court appearance, authorities said.
He will be extradited back to Florida, although officials aren’t sure when.
If he fights extradition, a governor’s warrant will be needed, the Sheriff’s Office said.
