Shores Club: Stay connected during the summer months

Well, I am back in Bonita and loving the warm weather, rain and all. It's still warm, and running in the rain is great.

Today I had a nice time, and I am issuing an invitation to other women who reside here in the Shores to attend the luncheon/get togethers that I recently found out about. Apparently, it has been happening for years, that one Wednesday a month (the second or third), they meet and have lunch.

Wednesday it was at the Royal Scoop where they often meet. The food was good, and meeting people who live all around me was even better. Most of these women have been active here for years and so have their spouses. Even with many gone for the summer, we had 18 to gossip, laugh, etc., and I highly recommend it to others.

There are some of us who are not so busy this time of year, so it would be fun for you to join also. Contact Effie Lee if you would like to come. The next one is July 12 at the Scoop, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Effie's number is 992-0248.

Thanks to the bridge players who have donated used (but good) cards to be sent to the VA hospitals. If other people are cleaning out games, etc., please contact me or Jo Kettles for more information, and how to help.

Please remember that the club parking lot is private property, and while it may make a good spot to teach folks how to drive, our insurance frowns upon this use. Also, boat trailers are not to be there or at the ramp area. ( Not to mention the local code enforcement rules.)

If you like yoga or line dancing, check out both at the club! I hope these are the correct times and days for you, if you are interested:

Bridge is held at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays, and 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Yoga is at 8:30 a.m. Tuesdays and line dancing is at 6 p.m. Thursdays. I am not sure if there is another yoga on Fridays or not, but I am sure scrapbooking is finished until the fall. (If not, I'll get a call).

I am assuming that the Block Party for Fourth of July is tabled or scrapped since I have had no feedback from anyone, so we will try some type of family gathering in the fall. We still plan to have a pizza/pot luck dinner on the first Wednesday of each month, so mark the calendars starting in November.

I will be leaving for the summer through mid-October, so if anyone else would like to keep people posted, please call me and I'll give you the correct address. Happy summer!
