Letter of the Day: Crushed

Recently, while outlining a book detailing the history of nuttiness in my family, I stumbled over the spelling of a very complex, four-letter word.

I chanced to look out the window just in time to see a garbage truck compactor compress an entire sofa in about 15 seconds.

Awesomely impressive! I had no idea they could do that! (Is that what happened to Jimmy Hoffa?)

But that demonstration also struck me as rather sad, because someone less fortunate very probably could have used that sofa.

Naples has charitable organizations, such as St. Matthew’s House and Goodwill, that will gladly pick up any usable items you wish to discard — absolutely free.

For those in our area less fortunate, your unwanted items may be just the very things they need most.
