Cape Coral’s Connor Arendell will represent the South Florida PGA Section at the Westfield Junior PGA Championship. Arendell, 16, shot 70-69-139 to win the Westfield South Florida PGA Championship at Boca Woods Country Club on Friday.
The national tournament is Aug. 10-13 in Westfield Center, Ohio. Kyle Roig, 13, of Pembroke Pines won the girls title and qualified for that tournament as well.
Alex Medinis of Fort Myers tied for second in the boys 16-18 age group with a 143.
LEPPO MAKES STATE AM CUT: Naples’ Josh Leppo was the only area player to make the cut at the Florida State Amateur on Friday in Boynton Beach. Leppo had a 149 total, making the cut by three shots.
