Teen who died in San Carlos accident was Naples resident

A Naples teenager has been identified as the passenger who died in a San Carlos Park accident Monday.

Oseas Y. Ardon, 18, of an unidentified Naples address, was riding in the rear passenger seat of truck that rolled over early on U.S. 41 in San Carlos Park. Three others were injured in the crash. The Florida Highway Patrol released Ardon's name Friday afternoon.

According to initial reports, a 2002 Toyota pickup was traveling south on U.S. 41 near Island Park Road, when the driver, Rolando M. Quintana Jr., 20, of 15020 Maple Tree Drive in East Naples, lost control. The vehicle's undercarriage struck the curb, and Quintana over-corrected while trying to re-enter the southbound lanes.

The truck then traveled across the southbound lanes while rotating counter-clockwise, causing it to overturn, reports said. The truck went across the raised median and all three northbound lanes while continuing to overturn, until it landed on its left side, partially trapping the driver.

Ardon and another rear passenger were ejected form the truck. Neither were wearing seat belts. Ardon was pronounced dead on the scene.

The three other passengers were transported to Lee Memorial Hospital.
