Inch of rain falls in Naples, more expected

Naples has already picked up more than an inch of rain, and there’s likely more where that came from.

As of 8 p.m., Naples Municipal Airport had recorded 1.21 inches of rain today. Including today’s rain, the city has picked up 7.39 inches of rain this month, which is close to the June average of just over 8 inches.

The rain also helped to cool temperatures across Southwest Florida. The high in Naples today was 85 degrees, which is 5 degrees below normal for today’s date, according to weather service records.

After continued storms and a low tonight of 74 degrees, the heavy rain could continue Monday, the weather service said.

The high on Monday is expected to reach 87 with partly cloudy skies. Winds could be gusty at times, forecasters said.
