Blades sign first player of off-season

The Florida Everblades announced today the team has signed defenseman Steve Czech to a contract for the coming season.

Czech is the first player signed by the Everblades this off-season.

He made his professional debut with the Everblades late last season. The Minnesota native skated in 10 regular season games, getting one assist and six penalty minutes.

"We are real happy to have Steve back for another year," head coach Gerry Fleming said. "He showed a lot of skill and potential last year, and we feel like he'll be a solid piece to have in place for the upcoming year."
