Collier makes school principal changes

The Collier County School District today announced a change in principals at two district schools.

Superintendent Ray Baker named Kenneth Fairbanks principal at Lely High School and Michael Parrish principal at East Naples Middle School. Baker’s recommendations will be presented for approval at the school board meeting scheduled for July 20.

Fairbanks and Parrish switched roles, taking the other’s current positions as principal.

Fairbanks’ 20-year career in Collier includes 12 years teaching, as well as serving as assistant principal at East Naples. He has served as principal at Vineyards, Golden Terrace and Big Cypress elementary schools, the Golden Gate Intermediate Centers and most recently East Naples.

Parrish has been with the district for 27 years. He has been a media specialist and assistant principal at Lely, as well as had assistant principal positions at Golden Gate and Corkscrew middle schools.

He has also served as principal of East Naples and most recently Lely High School.
