DUNEDIN — Dunedin's Cory Patton hit two homers and drove in 10 runs, tying a Florida State League record as the Blue Jays pounded the Fort Myers Miracle, 22-4 on Sunday.

Patton ripped a two-run double in the first, a two-run single in the third and blasted three-run homers in the fifth and sixth to pace a 21-hit Dunedin attack. The feat was accomplished twice before in league history — by Richard Banse of Cocoa in 1957 and Steve Verduzco of Kissimmee in 1995. Neither team is in the league anymore. Patton had a chance to break the record in the seventh, coming to the plate with runners on first and third with two outs. However, he hit into a fielder's choice to end the threat.
The 22 runs given up and the 18-run differential were both records for the Miracle.
Kyle Geiger's eighth-inning grand slam was the lone highlight for the Miracle, cutting the deficit to 21-4. The teams meet tonight in Dunedin, with Fort Myers sending lefty Brian Duensing (1-2, 3.60) to the hill.
