Blades forward Hartlieb to return with team

The Florida Everblades announced today the team has signed forward Ernie Hartlieb to a contract for the 2006-07 season.

Hartlieb, 27, compiled the second highest point total in his career last season after tallying 54 points (18 goals, 36 assists) in 55 regular season games with the Everblades. He had seven points (one goal, six assists) in eight Kelly Cup playoff games.

Hartlieb also was named a starter on the American Conference All-Star team.

"Ernie was a very big part of our success last year,” head coach Gerry Fleming said in a statement. "It was important for us to bring him back to continue leading this team. Ernie proved to be a strong leader for us both on and off the ice last season, and we look for him to continue bringing those leadership qualities to our locker room."
