Bode leads qualifier

Bobby Bode of Fort Lauderdale has the lead after the first round of the U.S. Junior Amateur qualifier at The Hideout in Naples on Tuesday.

Bode shot a 3-under-par 69 and leads Kevin Garbizo of Coral Springs by a stroke. The top two in the field advance to the Junior Amateur. There are also two alternate spots.

Alexander Medinis and Aaron Sherry of Fort Myers are tied for fourth with 72s, and Daniel Mazziotta of Fort Myers had a 73. Naples' Josh Leppo, Jack Schroeder and Carson Weinand had 74, 75 and 76, respectively.

The second round is today, with the final tee time just before 10 a.m.
