Fairbanks to take reins as new principal of Lely High

Lely High School will have a new principal starting this fall.

On Monday, June 26, Superintendent Ray Baker announced that Kenneth Fairbanks would be filling the role as Lely High School principal, replacing Michael Parrish.

Fairbanks was previously the principal of East Naples Middle School. Parrish has been appointed to that position, beginning next school year.

Fairbanks has been in Collier County for 20 years, including 12 years as a teacher. Before coming to Collier County, he taught in Katy, Texas.

In Parrish's 27 years with the district, he has filled every role from media specialist to dean and assistant principal at LHS. Parrish's new post is not an unfamilar one. Prior to going to LHS, Parrish was the principal of East Naples Middle.

The Collier County school board must approve Baker's reccomendation. The reccomendations will be up for approval during the next school board meeting, scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Administrative Center, 5775 Osceola Trail, Naples.
