Lee County announced today it will alter its garbage collection schedule next week because of the Independence Day holiday.
Residents of unincorporated Lee, Bonita Springs and the town of Fort Myers Beach will have garbage and recycling collections delayed one day starting on Tuesday, July 4.
Those with normal Tuesday pickup now will have trash picked up on Wednesday, Wednesday pickup moves to Thursday, Thursday to Friday and Friday to Saturday.
Regularly scheduled collections will resume on July 9.
