Re: Local laws to allow dogs to dine with their owners.
I am all for animal rights, but there are many more important and serious animal issues.
I just read about someone in Cape Coral who left their dog to die in a hot car for hours! Now this is something that needs to be addressed!
Owners of pets need to take more responsibility. Being an owner means you are the animal’s “guardian.” How could any person logically leave an animal in car in this heat and honestly believe that it is OK?
What is wrong with some people?!
Just try sitting in your car with the windows up and the air conditioning off. You wouldn’t last a minute.
I ask this: If you are someone who wanted to change a law to allow your dog to dine with you, please use your voice to educate people on what it means to be a pet owner.
We should all stand together and try to bring an end to issues such as animals being left tied up outside 24/7 in the heat; animals being neglected and abused; and the overwhelming problem of pet overpopulation.
We are euthanizing thousands of dogs and cats every day, but at the same time people are breeding more dogs and cats. Pet stores are selling dogs while Domestic Animal Control puts down animals nobody wants.
Doesn’t anyone want to see an end to this?
It’s time to start thinking about these creatures that don’t have a voice. We are their only hope and if more people got together and discussed “real” issues maybe something would change.
